Finance Minister Rameshwar khanal said today that Nepal’s new government will most likely be formed within the coming week. Speaking at an event marking the annual celebration of the Nepal Citizens Investment Fund, he explained that once the Election Commission distributes certificates to proportional representation lawmakers on Thursday, the constitutional process for forming the new government will move forward quickly. The minister also shared something personal, saying quietly that the time has come for him to rest, a graceful acknowledgment that his chapter as finance minister is drawing to a close.

khanal took a moment to send his warm wishes to the incoming government, which will come to power with a strong and clear majority. He expressed hope that the new administration will have the courage and capability to face the challenges coming from outside the country and steer Nepal’s broader economic indicators in the right direction. It was a farewell message wrapped in genuine goodwill, from one steward of the economy to the next.
