The ANFA Women’s League is at a tense standstill between the Army and the Police
At the ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Sunday, Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army FC played a fierce but scoreless match in the second round of the ANFA Women’s League 2024–2025.
The match turned controversial in the 22nd minute when Police’s Puja Rana scored, but referee Nabindra Maharjan disallowed the goal, indicating a foul on Army goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar during the play. In protest of the decision, the Police team exited the field for 25 minutes.
Following extended discussions, the Police ultimately returned to the playground, but neither team succeeded in turning their assaults into definitive goals. In spite of the high intensity and quick pace of the game, neither team was able to take advantage of their chances. The match finished as the light dimmed, keeping both the fans and players in suspense right until the conclusion.
After the tie, both teams currently possess four points each. Nonetheless, Police tops the rankings among the five teams based on goal difference, with Army occupying the second position.
