Nepali fighters Roshan Achhami and Yugeen Sharma are set to compete at Karma Fight League 9 (KFL 9) on September 12, 2026, at the Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre (SLECC) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The event features nine fights, with Achhami challenging for the KFL World Lightweight Championship and Sharma returning for another international contest, giving Nepali combat-sports fans two fighters to follow on one of KFL's major fight nights.

Roshan Achhami Gets a World Title Opportunity

The biggest Nepal connection at KFL 9 comes through Roshan Achhami, who is set to challenge Sri Lanka's Kavindu "Phoenix" Rasanjaya for the KFL World Lightweight Championship.

Achhami is a Nepali kickboxer associated with Fight Club Nepal and has competed internationally under the National Kickboxing Association Nepal/WAKO Nepal. His upcoming championship contest gives him an opportunity to add a KFL world title to a growing list of achievements.

Achhami's International Background

Achhami represented Nepal at the 2024 WAKO India Open International Kickboxing Tournament, competing in the senior men's K-1 -57 kg division. Official tournament results placed him joint third, earning him an international podium finish.

He has also found success at home. Fight Club Nepal lists Achhami as the winner of the four-man tournament at EFS Fight Night 5, adding another notable result to his kickboxing background.

KFL 8 Victory Builds Momentum

Achhami's previous KFL appearance provided another important result. At KFL 8 in Colombo in July 2026, he faced Pakistan's Ehsan Ullah and secured a unanimous-decision victory.

He now returns to Colombo less than two months later for a much bigger challenge: fighting Sri Lankan champion Kavindu Rasanjaya with the KFL World Lightweight Championship at stake.

Yugeen Sharma Returns for Nepal

Nepal's second representative, Yugeen Sharma, brings experience from both KFL competition and boxing. At KFL 9, Sharma is scheduled to face India's Khushi Singh in a strawweight contest.

Sharma has already competed several times on the KFL stage. At KFL 5 in July 2025, she represented Nepal against Sri Lanka's Nimesha Kumari, losing by unanimous decision. She later returned to face Sri Lanka's Shaini Chamodya at KFL 7, where KFL subsequently highlighted Sharma's successful performance.

Sharma Also Has a Boxing Background

Sharma's experience is not limited to KFL. Official results from the 2026 All Nepal Open U-22 Boxing Championship in Hetauda list her as the gold medalist in the women's 60 kg lightweight category, representing RAGE.

Her boxing success adds another layer to her combat-sports background as she prepares to represent Nepal again internationally at KFL 9.

Nine Fights in Colombo

KFL 9 is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at SLECC in Colombo. The promotion is advertising a card featuring nine fights, continuing its effort to bring fighters from different South Asian countries onto the same professional K-1 platform.

Gates are scheduled to open at 6 PM, with fight action beginning at 7 PM.

Why KFL 9 Matters for Nepal

For Nepal, KFL 9 is more than another international fight card. Achhami has an opportunity to capture a KFL world championship, while Sharma gets another chance to build on her international experience and national boxing success.
