Editorial Policy

24 Ghanta Nepal publishes news for readers in Nepal and the Nepali diaspora. This page sets out how we gather, verify, and correct what we publish, and how readers can hold us to it.

Accuracy and Verification

We verify information before publication. Reporting is grounded in named sources wherever possible; anonymous sourcing is used only when the information is of clear public interest and cannot be obtained otherwise, and is approved by an editor.

Breaking news is published as facts are confirmed. When a story is still developing, we say so, and we update the article as the picture becomes clearer rather than leaving incomplete reporting in place.

Bylines and Accountability

Every article carries the name of the journalist responsible for it, linked to a profile page listing their recent work. Stories produced by the newsroom collectively are bylined to the Editorial Team.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note the change on the article rather than removing it silently. Significant corrections are stated plainly at the point of the error. To report a mistake, contact us through our contact page with the article link and the detail you believe is inaccurate.

Independence and Advertising

Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial interests. Advertising is visually distinct from editorial content and labelled as such. Sponsored or paid content is marked clearly and is never presented as independent reporting.

Sources and Attribution

Reporting that originates with another outlet or a news agency is attributed to it. We link to source material — documents, data, and official statements — where doing so helps readers check the record themselves.
