Egg Prices Rise Again in Nepal, but Why Are Farmers Still Losing Money?
Egg prices increased across Nepal from July 22, 2026, with large eggs reaching Rs. 500 per crate, medium eggs Rs. 470, and small eggs Rs. 415, following a sharp decline in production caused by bird flu. Despite the Rs. 50 increase in every category, farmers say the new rates remain below the estimated production cost of Rs. 573.60 per crate.
