Government Makes Moral Education Mandatory Under National Integrity Policy 2083

The Government of Nepal has introduced the National Integrity Policy 2083, making moral education and integritymandatory in school and higher education curricula across the country. The policy also requires integrity and ethical conduct to be included in Public Service Commission examinations and other government recruitment processes to strengthen honesty, transparency, and good governance through education and public service.

According to the government, the policy has been introduced to encourage ethical behaviour, accountability, and responsible decision-making among students, future civil servants, and public institutions. Officials believe that promoting integrity through education will help create a more transparent and trustworthy public administration.

Under the new policy, educational institutions will be required to incorporate moral education into their teaching, while government recruitment bodies will assess applicants on integrity-related knowledge during selection processes.
