Harka Sampang Appointed To Lead Nepal-Ireland Parliamentary Friendship

Harka Sampang, Chairman of the Shram Sanskriti Party, has been appointed as the coordinator of the Nepal-Ireland Parliamentary Friendship Group by Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal in Nepal, with the goal of strengthening parliamentary cooperation and diplomatic engagement between Nepal and Ireland. The appointment is part of Nepal’s wider effort to use parliamentary friendship groups as a channel for dialogue, coordination, and relationship building with other countries.

Parliamentary friendship groups help lawmakers from two countries build direct communication outside regular diplomatic meetings. Through this platform, Nepal and Ireland can exchange ideas on lawmaking, governance, education, migration, climate issues, tourism, and people-to-people relations.

The Nepal-Ireland Parliamentary Friendship Group is expected to support closer links between lawmakers, encourage mutual learning, and create space for future cooperation. As coordinator, Harka Sampang will have a formal role in helping guide communication and engagement between the two parliamentary sides.

Nepal has been giving more attention to parliamentary diplomacy in recent years.
