Mountain Dew Batch No. 168 Removed From Market After Food Safety Inspection
Government Orders Immediate Removal of Mountain Dew Batch Produced by Varun Beverages After Reported Health Issues Raise Safety Concerns

Authorities have temporarily stopped the sale and distribution of a specific batch of Mountain Dew after a consumer in Kathmandu reportedly faced health problems. The action targets batch no. 168 of the 250 ml bottle, produced on April 6, 2026, by Varun Beverages. Officials ordered the product to be removed from the market after an inspection by the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control.
The suspension is currently limited to the identified batch, and authorities are expected to continue testing and monitoring the product. The case has also raised public concern about beverage quality checks and consumer safety standards in Nepal, especially for widely consumed soft drinks.
