MP Anushka Shrestha Calls for “Made in Nepal” Products

Ruling party Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Anushka Shrestha has called on the government to make it compulsory for all shops at Tribhuvan International Airport to sell Nepali products. She raised this demand during the zero hour of the House of Representatives session on Tuesday.

She said that thousands of passengers leave Nepal every day through the airport, and this is a strong opportunity to promote local goods, handicrafts, and products made by Nepali entrepreneurs. According to her, a dedicated space for “Made in Nepal” products should be included in all airport shops and tender processes, so that Nepali identity can be better represented globally.

MP Shrestha further stressed that small and indigenous producers should get priority access to this market. She believes this step will help promote domestic industries while also introducing Nepali culture and products to international travelers passing through the country’s main international gateway.
