Nepal Airlines Expands Japan Flight Schedule
Nepal Airlines Corporation has announced an increase in flights to Japan following growing passenger demand and the upcoming festival season.
The national flag carrier will operate the Kathmandu-Narita-Kathmandu route four times a week from September 18.
Currently, the airline operates three weekly flights on the Japan route.
New Kathmandu-Narita Flight Schedule
Under the revised schedule, flights between Kathmandu and Narita will operate on:
Tuesday
Thursday
Friday
Sunday
The additional flight is expected to provide more travel options for passengers travelling between Nepal and Japan.
Festival Season Drives Increased Demand
Nepal Airlines said the decision was made considering increased passenger demand and the upcoming festival period.
The additional service is expected to benefit:
Nepali workers living in Japan
Students travelling between the two countries
Families visiting during festivals
Passengers connecting through Japan
Widebody Aircraft Annapurna Returns After Maintenance
Nepal Airlines has also confirmed that its Airbus widebody aircraft Annapurna has returned to regular operations after completing its scheduled fourth C-check.
The aircraft had travelled to Italy for detailed technical maintenance after operating a Kathmandu-Dubai flight on July 7, 2026.
It successfully completed the maintenance process and returned to Kathmandu on August 6, 2026.
What Is A C-Check?
A C-check is one of the most detailed aircraft maintenance procedures carried out at scheduled intervals.
During this process:
Aircraft systems are inspected thoroughly.
Major components are checked.
Technical issues are identified and repaired.
Safety standards are verified before returning the aircraft to service.
Nepal Airlines Prepares For FlyDubai Ground Handling At Pokhara Airport
The airline has also completed preparations to provide ground handling services for FlyDubai’s regular flights at Pokhara International Airport starting from September.
The move is expected to support international flight operations from Pokhara and strengthen Nepal’s aviation connectivity.
