Prime Minister Balen Shah has said that he will appear in Parliament and respond to lawmakers at an “appropriate time.” His statement came after opposition parties repeatedly demanded his presence in the House and raised questions over his absence during ongoing parliamentary discussions.

According to Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal, he met with Prime Minister Shah after opposition lawmakers continued pressing for the Prime Minister to answer in Parliament. Speaker Aryal informed the House that the Prime Minister had said he would come and respond when the time was suitable.

The issue has gained political attention as opposition parties have been criticizing the Prime Minister for not attending Parliament during important debates. Lawmakers argued that the head of government should be present in the House to answer questions, especially when serious national and political issues are being discussed.

Despite the opposition’s protest, slogans, and pressure inside the House, parliamentary proceedings continued. Several bills and official business moved forward even as lawmakers continued to demand accountability from the Prime Minister.

The Speaker’s statement has now shifted the focus to when PM Shah will actually appear in Parliament. For many lawmakers, the issue is not only about one appearance but also about the Prime Minister’s responsibility to face elected representatives and answer public concerns through Parliament.

This has also raised a wider debate about parliamentary accountability in Nepal. In a democratic system, Parliament is the main place where the government is questioned, policies are discussed, and leaders are expected to explain their decisions to the people’s representatives.

For now, PM Balen Shah has not given an exact date for his appearance. However, his message through the Speaker suggests that he plans to respond to lawmakers later, while opposition parties are likely to keep pushing for a clear timeline.
