Kathmandu, August 21, 2026: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has confirmed that Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s visit to Mustang is private.
The clarification was made during the regular press conference of the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday.
PMO Confirms Private Visit
Responding to journalists’ questions about the Prime Minister’s trip, PMO spokesperson Hemraj Aryal said Shah’s visit to Mustang was not an official government visit.
Aryal said that anyone seeking further details about the trip could contact the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
The PMO did not provide further details about the purpose or schedule of the private visit.
Shah Travels to Pokhara by Road
Prime Minister Shah travelled from Kathmandu to Pokhara by road on Friday.
He is scheduled to travel onward from Pokhara to Mustang.
