A rare albino buffalo in Bangladesh, nicknamed “Donald Trump,” has been saved from Eid al-Adha sacrifice after becoming viral online because of its blond hair and calm appearance. The nearly 700-kilogram buffalo had already been sold for ritual sacrifice before the Bangladesh government stepped in at the last moment.

According to reports, huge crowds started gathering at the farm after videos of the buffalo spread widely on social media. Visitors traveled from different places to see and photograph the rare animal, creating security concerns ahead of the Eid festival.

Following the situation, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed ordered the buffalo to be spared, refunded the buyer, and transferred the animal to the national zoo in Dhaka.

The buffalo’s owner said the nickname came after his younger brother noticed similarities between the animal’s blond hair and the hairstyle of Donald Trump.

Officials say albino buffaloes are extremely rare in Bangladesh and require special care, including regular feeding, bathing, and protection from sunlight. The viral attention and unusual nickname ultimately helped save the animal’s life.
