According to the government’s appeal, the flood occurred at around 8:40 AM on Wednesday, Bhadra 10, 2083, causing widespread disruption and substantial losses. Authorities have intensified search, rescue and relief operations in the affected areas, while the assessment and collection of details regarding the human and physical damage remain ongoing.

Government Appeals for Donations for Rasuwa Flood Victims

Following the disaster, the Government of Nepal has appealed to individuals, organizations and the general public to provide financial assistance through the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

The government has emphasized that immediate assistance is essential to move affected people to safer locations and provide them with necessary relief. At the same time, long-term rehabilitation and reconstruction will be equally important for families whose homes, livelihoods and property have been damaged by the flood.

Support Needed for Rescue, Relief and Rehabilitation

The ongoing response includes rescue operations, search efforts, emergency relief and damage assessment. However, affected communities will require continued support beyond the immediate emergency phase.

Financial contributions to the official relief funds can help strengthen efforts to provide essential assistance to flood-affected families and support their eventual recovery and rehabilitation.

The government has therefore urged citizens to contribute whatever amount they can to the designated official bank accounts listed in the notice.

Public Urged to Verify Donation Channels

As public fundraising efforts increase following the disaster, donors are also encouraged to verify the authenticity of any donation appeal before sending money. Financial assistance should preferably be provided through officially announced government relief funds or verified organizations to ensure that support reaches those affected by the Bhotekoshi flood.

The Bhotekoshi flood has highlighted the urgent need for coordinated disaster response and long-term recovery efforts in the affected communities. Collective support from citizens, organizations and institutions can play an important role in helping flood victims recover from the devastating impact of the disaster.
