Three Nepali Hotels Named Among Asia’s Best in Condé Nast Traveller 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards

Kathmandu: Nepal has secured three places among the top 10 hotels in the “Rest of Asia” category of the 2026 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards, with properties from Kathmandu, Mustang and Pokhara earning international recognition.

The Dwarika’s in Kathmandu ranked No. 2 with a score of 98.74, making it the highest-ranked Nepali property. Shinta Mani Mustang in Jomsom ranked No. 3 with 95.37, while The Pavilions Himalayas, The Farm in Pokhara secured the No. 9 position with 90.54.

The results mean Nepal has not only secured three of the category’s top 10 positions but also placed two hotels among the top three.

The Dwarika’s Ranks Second

The Dwarika’s in Kathmandu achieved Nepal’s highest position in the ranking, finishing second with a score of 98.74.

The Kathmandu property is known for its strong connection to Nepal’s architectural and cultural heritage. Its second-place finish puts it just behind Uga Prāva in Tangalle, Sri Lanka, which topped the category with a score of 98.82.

The difference between the first and second-ranked hotels was only 0.08 points.

Shinta Mani Mustang Takes Third Place

Shinta Mani Mustang in Jomsom followed closely, securing third place with a score of 95.37.

The property is designed around its connection with Mustang’s landscape, architecture and living culture. Its interiors, designed by Bill Bensley, draw inspiration from the region’s traditional architecture and distinctive Himalayan environment.

Its guest experiences focus on discovery, local culture, wellness and connection with Mustang. The property also works with local people and suppliers, with an emphasis on employment, partnerships and community participation.

The Pavilions Himalayas Puts Pokhara in Top 10

Nepal’s third entry came from The Pavilions Himalayas, The Farm in Pokhara, which ranked No. 9 with a score of 90.54.

Its inclusion gives Nepal representation from another of the country’s major tourism destinations and means Kathmandu, Mustang and Pokhara are all represented in the top 10.

The three properties offer different sides of Nepal’s tourism experience, from Kathmandu’s heritage and architecture to Mustang’s Himalayan culture and Pokhara’s nature-focused hospitality.

Three Nepali Hotels in the Top 10

The recognition is particularly significant for Nepal because the country secured three of only 10 positions in the Rest of Asia category.

Sri Lankan properties took several places on the list, while hotels from Nepal and Bhutan were also represented. Nepal secured the second, third and ninth positions.

The three Nepali hotels are:

  • No. 2 — The Dwarika’s, Kathmandu — 98.74

  • No. 3 — Shinta Mani Mustang, Jomsom — 95.37

  • No. 9 — The Pavilions Himalayas, The Farm, Pokhara — 90.54

Readers Vote Based on Their Travel Experiences

The 2026 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards recognize hotels, destinations and travel experiences based on feedback from the publication’s readers.

The recognition of three Nepali properties brings together three different tourism destinations under the same international ranking and highlights Nepal’s offerings in heritage, Himalayan landscapes, culture, wellness and nature-based travel.
