Traffic Enforcement Generates Rs 22.39 Lakh Revenue In 24 Hours

Traffic police in the Kathmandu Valley took action against 2,556 drivers for violating traffic rules in the past 24 hours. The enforcement campaign generated Rs 22.39 lakh in government revenue through fines and penalties.

Traffic authorities in the Kathmandu Valley collected Rs 22.39 lakh in revenue over the past 24 hours after taking action against thousands of motorists for violating traffic regulations.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, a total of 2,556 drivers and vehicle operators were penalized during routine traffic monitoring and enforcement activities conducted across the Valley.

Among those facing action were 106 drivers found driving under the influence of alcohol, while 154 individuals were penalized for operating ride-sharing services in violation of existing regulations.

Traffic police also recorded 107 cases of traffic signal violations and 183 cases of overspeeding during the same period.

Other offences included 97 cases of lane discipline violations, 109 cases of unnecessary horn use in restricted areas, 98 vehicles parked on footpaths, and 30 vehicles found operating in poor mechanical condition.

In addition, 1,672 motorists were penalized for various other traffic-related offences identified during inspections and monitoring operations.

Traffic officials stated that enforcement efforts are being continued across the Valley to improve road discipline, enhance public safety, and encourage compliance with traffic regulations.

Authorities have urged drivers to follow traffic rules and operate vehicles responsibly to help reduce accidents and maintain smooth traffic flow on Kathmandu's roads.
