“I Haven’t Read It”: Rabi Lamichhane Questions Credibility of ‘Gray Zone’ Report

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane said he has not read the report being discussed as the ‘Gray Zone’ report, while questioning its credibility when journalists asked for his views on the document.

Lamichhane made the remarks while speaking to journalists after an all-party meeting in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

A journalist asked Lamichhane how he viewed the ‘Gray Zone’ report, which has been circulating widely on social media.

In response, Lamichhane asked what the report was and where it had been published.

When the journalist pointed out that the report was widely available on social media, Lamichhane replied that he had not read it.

He said he generally does not spend time reading material whose credibility he considers questionable.

Lamichhane Questions the Report’s Credibility

Lamichhane questioned where the report had originated and which publication had produced it.

He said that if a report contains unreliable or baseless material, spending time on it would not be worthwhile.

He also questioned whether the media should devote significant attention to material whose credibility has not been established.

Report Has Been Widely Discussed Online

The exchange came as the ‘Gray Zone’ report was being widely discussed across social media platforms.

However, Lamichhane said he had not personally read the report and therefore did not offer a substantive assessment of its contents.

His comments focused instead on the source and credibility of the material.
