Indian Car Hits Motorcycle In Kailali, One Dead
A motorcycle passenger was killed and the rider injured after an Indian-registered car collided with their bike in Dhangadhi, Kailali. Police later arrested the driver, who had fled the scene, and have launched an investigation into the fatal crash.

A 48-year-old motorcycle passenger lost his life after an Indian-registered car crashed into a motorcycle at Boradandi Chowk, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City–3, Kailali, on Sunday. The collision occurred while the motorcycle was travelling from Dhangadhi Chowk towards Attariya, and police say the driver of the car fled the scene before being arrested later. The accident is under investigation to determine the exact cause.
The deceased has been identified as Padam Chand of Sigas Rural Municipality–1, Baitadi, who was riding as a pillion passenger on the motorcycle. He sustained critical injuries in the crash and was rushed to Mayametro Hospital, Dhangadhi, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
The motorcycle rider, Gautam Air, also suffered injuries and is currently receiving treatment at CP Hospital, Dhangadhi. According to police, his condition is stable and he is expected to recover.
Police officers tracked down and arrested the fleeing driver, Ashwani Kumar Singh, a 42-year-old resident of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, from Lalpur, Godavari Municipality–6, Kailali. The Indian-registered car involved in the accident was also taken into police custody, and authorities say further investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances surrounding the crash.
