Police Arrest One With Illegal Vapes Worth Rs 6 Crore During Raid In Kathmandu’s Khichapokhari

Police have arrested one person from Kathmandu’s Khichapokhari area after seizing illegal electronic cigarettes, commonly known as vapes, worth around Rs 6 crore during a large-scale raid operation.

Acting on special intelligence, a team deployed by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office detained 32-year-old Nabin Khadka of Mahalaxmi Municipality-8, Lalitpur, in connection with the case.

According to police, the raid was conducted at the “Smile Your Choice” shop located in the underground section of RB Complex in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-22, Khichapokhari, along with a warehouse operated by Vapemandu Traders Pvt. Ltd. located in another building of the same complex.

During the search operation, authorities recovered 28,500 illegal vape products of different companies that reportedly did not have valid bills or import documents.

Police stated that Khadka is the operator of the vape business linked to the seized products. Further investigation into the source and distribution network of the illegal electronic cigarettes is currently underway.
