Chintan Acharya, the acting chief of the Transport Management Office in Bara, has been removed from his post after a video allegedly showing him assaulting a service recipient inside the office went public.

The Ministry of Labour and Transport of Madhesh Province transferred Acharya to the ministry following the incident. Ministry information officer Sunil Shah confirmed that the decision was made at the ministerial level.

New Officer Assigned

Following Acharya’s removal, officer Ramswartha Mahato has been assigned as the new acting chief of the Transport Management Office, Bara.

The ministry’s decision came after the video circulated publicly and raised questions about official conduct inside a government service office.

Police Investigation Underway

Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Bara Police, through Dhanusha Police, has called Acharya for questioning.

Officials said Acharya has not been arrested, but he has been asked to provide details about the incident as part of the investigation.

Alleged Assault Took Place In Falgun

According to officials, the incident allegedly took place inside Acharya’s office during the third week of Falgun.

The investigation has also pointed to the possible involvement of the office watchman. Two police personnel, including Traffic Police Sub-Inspector Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, were reportedly present at the scene during the incident.

Public Concern Over Office Conduct

The case has drawn attention to the treatment of service recipients inside public offices. Authorities are expected to take further action based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.

No further official details on possible legal or departmental action were immediately available.
