Nepal Government To Cover Full Treatment Cost Of Burn Victim Ganesh Nepali And Prepare Immediate Transfer To AIIMS New Delhi For Advanced Medical Care After Passport Department Incident

The Nepal Government has announced that it will bear the full cost of treatment for Ganesh Nepali, who suffered severe burn injuries in the recent incident outside the Department of Passports in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu. Authorities have also started urgent preparations to transfer him to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India, for specialized treatment.
Ganesh Nepali is currently undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital, where a team of doctors has been closely monitoring his condition. According to government officials, his injuries require advanced medical care that is not immediately available in Nepal, leading to the decision to arrange his transfer to one of India's leading medical institutions.
To review the patient's health condition and speed up the treatment process, Home Minister Sudan Gurung, along with members of the Prime Minister's Secretariat, visited Bir Hospital on Friday. During the visit, they met with the medical team and received a detailed briefing on Nepali's latest health status, treatment progress, and the challenges involved in his recovery.
Following discussions with the doctors and considering the seriousness of the injuries, the officials instructed concerned agencies to complete all technical, medical, and administrative arrangements needed for his immediate transfer to AIIMS in New Delhi. The government has emphasized that every necessary step should be taken without delay to ensure the patient receives timely specialized care.
Officials confirmed that the Nepal Government will cover all expenses related to Ganesh Nepali's treatment, including medical care, transportation, and other necessary costs associated with his transfer and hospitalization in India. The decision is intended to ensure that financial concerns do not become a barrier to receiving life-saving treatment.

The process of transferring the patient has been initiated under the special initiative of Prime Minister Balendra Shah. Government agencies are coordinating with medical authorities and relevant institutions to complete the required procedures as quickly as possible so that the patient can be flown to New Delhi without unnecessary delay.
The incident outside the Department of Passports in Tripureshwor left Ganesh Nepali with serious burn injuries, and his condition has remained a matter of concern. Medical experts continue to provide intensive care while preparations for his transfer are finalized.
