Rs 11 Arba Collected in Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, Rs 1 Arba Released for Flood Response

KATHMANDU, September 6, 2026: More than Rs 11 Arba has been collected in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and Prime Minister’s Relief Fund as contributions continue to come in for communities affected by the devastating Bhote Koshi flood.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, a total of Rs 11 Arba 5 Crore 56 Lakh 26 Thousand 971 has been collected in the two funds so far.

Of the amount collected, the government has already released Rs 1 Arba for flood-affected areas.

Funds Collected Through Bank Accounts

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Rs 8 Arba 6 Crore 25 Lakh 15 Thousand 815 has been deposited through accounts maintained at nine commercial banks.

In addition, foreign currency contributions have also been deposited in dollar accounts maintained at Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Bank.

The two dollar accounts have received a combined USD 1.98 million in contributions.

Rs 1 Arba Released for Flood-Affected Areas

The government has released Rs 1 Arba from the collected funds for areas affected by the Bhote Koshi flood.

The money is intended to support rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the disaster.

The funds are expected to support communities that suffered losses to homes, infrastructure, livelihoods and other essential facilities.

Contributions Continue as Relief Efforts Expand

The collection reflects continued financial support for communities affected by the disaster, with individuals, organisations, businesses and other contributors depositing money into the government-managed relief funds.

The government has said the collected amount will be used for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the Bhote Koshi flood.
