Body Dump Attempt After Teen's Death Raises Murder Suspicion In Saptari

A 14-year-old boy was found dead in Shambhunath Municipality-6, Saptari, on Wednesday, after two men allegedly attempted to flee with his body on a motorcycle. Nepal Police arrested an Indian national, while another suspect escaped. Investigators are trying to determine whether the boy died in a road accident or was intentionally killed, making the incident the focus of an ongoing criminal investigation.

How The Incident Unfolded

According to police, the teenager died after being hit in the Kathouna market area. Instead of reporting the incident, the suspects allegedly placed the victim's body on an Apache motorcycle and fled from the scene. Police became suspicious during patrol and chased the motorcycle before the suspects allegedly tried to dump the body nearly 11 kilometers away near Dinabhadri Than in Khadak Municipality.

One Arrested, One Still Missing

With the help of local residents, police arrested 28-year-old Indian citizen Mohammad Sadar Nat of Madhubani, Bihar. Another suspect managed to escape, and search operations are continuing. Police said the arrested man is believed to work at a meat shop in Bodebarsain Municipality.

Police Investigating Cause Of Death

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the teenager died solely because of a traffic collision or if any criminal act was involved. Police say forensic findings and further investigation will determine the exact cause of death and the role of each suspect.

Local Protest Follows

Following the incident, the victim's relatives and local residents staged a protest on Thursday morning, blocking the East-West Highway at Kathouna for about 30 minutes while demanding justice and a thorough investigation.
