A 21-year-old Nepali migrant worker, Gajendra Bishwakarma of Gaumul Rural Municipality-3, Bajura, died on Wednesday while receiving treatment at a hospital in Bengaluru, India, after allegedly being assaulted during a dispute on Monday evening. Indian police have arrested two Nepali nationals in connection with the case, while another suspect remains on the run as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack.

Dispute Reportedly Escalated Into Violence

According to the victim's family, Gajendra became involved in what was initially described as a minor disagreement with several fellow Nepalis. The family alleges that the argument quickly turned into a group assault, leaving him with serious injuries that required emergency medical treatment.

Two Arrested, Search Continues

Indian police have arrested Narendra Chadara (26) and Ram Chadara (22), both from Budhinanda Municipality-10 of Bajura. Police are also searching for another suspect, Govinda Chadara, along with others who are believed to have fled after the incident. Family members say the accused are brothers from the same household.

Victim Succumbed During Treatment

Gajendra had been living and working in Bengaluru for the past four years. Despite being rushed to hospital after the alleged assault, he died from his injuries while undergoing treatment, turning the assault investigation into a fatal criminal case.

Family Demands Full Investigation

The victim's relatives have refused to claim his body from the hospital until every person allegedly involved is taken into custody. They have also urged the Government of Nepal, diplomatic authorities, and Nepali migrant organizations in India to assist in securing a fair investigation and ensuring justice for the deceased.
