Four Restaurants, One Mission: Nepali Chef in Portugal Raises Funds for Rasuwa Flood Victims

After spending around three decades building his life and career in Portugal, Nepali chef Tanka Sapkota has turned the success of his four Lisbon restaurants into support for flood-affected families back home in Nepal. Through a charity dinner held on September 1, the initiative was expected to raise between €17,000 (around NPR 30.25 Lakh) and €25,000 (around NPR 44.49 Lakh) for the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

China Rejects Claims It Withheld Weather And River Data From Nepal After Rasuwa Disaster

The Chinese Embassy in Nepal has rejected claims that China lacked transparency in sharing hydrological and weather information following the August 26 disaster along the Gyirong-Rasuwa border, saying it continues to provide key data to Nepal every day despite damage to monitoring and communication systems. China says cooperation on warnings and disaster response remains active, although the catastrophe has also raised wider questions in Nepal about whether the two countries need a stronger formal system for sharing real-time cross-border hazard information.

World’s Largest Battery-Electric Aircraft Flies For 27 Minutes Using Just $5 Of Electricity

Heart Aerospace's full-scale X1 demonstrator has completed its first flight, staying airborne for 27 minutes and reaching 1,100 feet while using approximately $5 worth of electricity, according to the company. The battery-electric aircraft is a technology demonstrator for Heart's planned 30-seat ES-30 hybrid-electric regional airliner, which is currently targeted to enter commercial service in 2031.
